Wheel modification
Wheel modification refers to the modification of the original wheels of a vehicle by the owner or a person specializing in vehicle modification for aesthetic or other purposes. This kind of modification is very popular among car tuning enthusiasts and is becoming a focal point of car modification for enthusiasts day by day.
When performing wheel modification, you first need to choose the right wheel. The chosen wheel size, reducer matching, hole spacing and other parameters must be matched with the vehicle's original wheel, otherwise it may lead to body imbalance, instability and other problems. Common materials for modified wheels on the market include aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy and carbon fiber, each of which has its own unique advantages, as detailed above.
If the shape of the wheel is different, but the size has not changed, then theoretically it can pass the annual inspection. This is because according to the newly implemented Motor Vehicle Inspection Regulations, wheel modifications are classified as legal modifications and do not need to be registered, so as long as the tire size has not changed you can pass the annual inspection.
However, if the wheel size is changed, then it will not pass the annual inspection. This is because according to the relevant provisions of the Regulations on Motor Vehicle Registration, the owner of a licensed motor vehicle is required to apply to the Vehicle Control Office for registration of changes to the body color, model, performance, use and structure of the motor vehicle. The Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China also clearly stipulates that no unit or individual may change the registered structure, construction or characteristics of a motor vehicle without authorization. Therefore, if the wheel size is changed but not approved by the traffic management department, then the vehicle will not pass the annual inspection.
Of course, if it affects the safety of driving or may increase the danger in case of collision with other vehicles, then it may also be recognized by the traffic management department as illegal modification and cannot pass the annual inspection.
